After attending the Digital Signage Expo in Chicago, I firmly believe that digital signage is at a "tipping point" of widespread exposure and acceptance. Interactive digital signage featured at DSE illustrates the fullness of what this technology brings to retailers, advertisers, and consumers. Innovative solutions developed by the myriad of vendors at DSE captivated me and brought forth visions of a fully integrated digital world. The ability to engage consumers in a true interactive "conversation" offers a plethora of opportunities.
Digital signage will play a key role in advertising and media in the future. It represents a new wave in allowing individuals to choose how they interact with advertising messages. Passive forms of media are moving toward obsolescence, clearing the way for innovative technologies that empower consumers.
